Project Information

The PVI Industries solar project is one of the most significant industrial captive solar installations in South India, with a total project value of ₹150 Crore. Designed and executed by KIIPL, the project provides dedicated solar energy for PVI Industries' manufacturing operations, significantly reducing energy expenses and enhancing operational sustainability.

This high-value project reflects the shift of heavy industries toward renewable sources to comply with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) goals. KIIPL worked closely with PVI’s energy and facility teams to ensure smooth integration with existing electrical infrastructure and process automation systems.

With a capacity that supports up to 24–28 million units of annual energy generation, the plant fulfills 70–80% of the company’s power needs, enabling substantial cost savings and ensuring power reliability for high-consumption manufacturing activities.

Project Scope

This was a full turnkey EPC project, beginning with site feasibility, energy demand analysis, and capacity planning. The plant involved both ground-mounted and elevated structures depending on land use optimization.

Civil work included road development, site fencing, utility shelters, and drainage. Mounting structures were designed to resist heavy monsoon and wind loads, considering Karnataka’s seasonal challenges.

The electrical scope included inverter stations, transformer substations, grid interfacing, SCADA-based remote control systems, and on-site energy storage feasibility.

Regulatory clearances, including open-access power wheeling permissions, were also managed by KIIPL. As a captive model, this project includes net metering, load balancing, and a long-term AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) to ensure plant efficiency and uptime for years to come.
